When you are ready to sell your home, your REALTOR® will typically discuss a plan for marketing the sale. This marketing plan may include an MLS listing, possible newspaper and Web listings, and open houses. But don’t assume that your home will sell faster if your agent holds lots of open houses. Open houses do not sell the product, but merely bring buyers to the door.
Once a potential buyer is there, the sale is a result of the attractiveness of the product to the buyer — location, condition, and price. Your Texas REALTOR® is responsible for marketing the house, but you ultimately control the listing’s price and condition.
