The Texas economy rose slightly in April, according to an economic index released by Comerica Bank. The Texas Economic Activity Index rose half a percentage point to 97.5 in April. The index has averaged 96 points in 2012, six points above the average for all of 2011. Economists note that Texas continues to exhibit increased economic growth as a result of the state’s vigorous drilling activity and robust energy sector. Read more at the Dallas Morning News.
