According to an analysis of census tract and household income data by the Pew Research Center, Houston is one of the most income-segregated large metros in America, especially in terms of upper-income households. Out of the top 10 metros in the U.S., Houston ranked No. 1 because 24% of the area’s upper-income households reside in a majority upper-income tract. Dallas ranked No. 2 at 23%.
