Fort Hood, one of the largest Army bases in the U.S., is a significant economic driver for the state of Texas, according to a study released Thursday by Texas’s Comptroller Susan Combs. The study concludes that the military installation 100 miles north of Austin pumped $25.3 billion into the Texas economy last year. Read more at KXAN.
