I have been investing in residential rentals since 2002 in Tobin Hill near the Pearl in San Antonio. Most of my experience has been in the renovation of turn of the century homes in the historic part of the area where I have renovated four homes to their original splendor. One of these properties received an award from the San Antonio Conservation Society. My passion and love of older homes in the downtown area has extended from my personal passion into the broad interest of all homes in the greater San Antonio area. About Me
I was born and raised in a commercial fishing family in Juneau, Alaska. My parents have invested their commercial fishing income in real estate all my life which inspired me to acquire residential rentals using my commercial fishing income when I moved to San Antonio as an elementary school teacher. I began investing in 2002 and was teaching school during the winter in Texas and returning to Alaska for the summers to run my salmon fishing business. Teaching school, renovating and managing my rentals, and running a commercial fishing business in Alaska became too much so I decided to retire from teaching after 17 years to focus on my love for real estate. It has been a great transition where I can pair my love of teaching, helping others and learning with my knowledge of residential real estate.
