About Me

For over 18 years, I was basically a real estate broker running a one-person real estate office and helping clients in the buying and selling of properties and/or managing their investment properties. A large percentage of the work utilized my acquired skills, education and prior experience and I used those tools to provide information to help ascertain the best use and value of property already owned or new property being considered for purchase, lease or sale. I also assisted with the representation of my client’s real estate before municipal authorities for matters like changes in zoning, representation for affordable housing, qualification details and applications, real estate development projects, financing, water rights and utility rights-of-way, etc.

Some of the brokerage work that I did was just the everyday buying, selling and leasing of real estate and the normal representation of buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants. I handled both residential and commercial representation. As far as my work done as research on properties for lease, value, future development or as a representative of properties before municipal authorities; that work was almost exclusively of a commercial nature.

I have 50 years of business management experience. The majority of which has been in or associated with the real estate/construction industry. My business ventures in industries other than real estate have always had a real estate/construction component associated with them. At my last company, Content Management Corp., I was responsible in 1994 for site location, leasing, plan design, TI, mechanical upgrades for both the Palo Alto location as well as the new 2001 Newark, CA facility. I was further responsible for the acquisition of the majority of our largest accounts. As the President of Exchange Development Corporation in McKinney TX, I was responsible for the design, construction, leasing and sale of all of the commercial properties that we developed.

I have, through the years, completed 720 plus credit hours of California real estate courses and recently I completed 240/630 college credit hours of Texas real estate courses. I passed the California Real Estate Brokers License exam on Dec 5th, 2003. I passed the Texas Real Estate Salesperson License exam on Jan. 13th 2023.

I am the President/Owner of Austin Fairchild Group, LLC , a company specializing in the leasing and sales of commercial, industrial and investment properties. I have many years of real estate and construction experience. I am in good health and my mental capabilities and memory are just as good as they ever were. I sometimes have a hard time realizing that I am as old as I am. I don’t see myself that way.
