My Experience: I attended Baylor University and double majored in BBA Finance & Real Estate, May 2003. At the end of my schooling, I was lucky to land an internship with the lovely Debra Lyon of Remax of Greater Waco, May 2002-May 2003 where I learned the ins and outs of being a Realtor. I enjoyed finance more so, but after BU graduation, the events of 9/11 left us in a weak job market. So I literally opened up the yellow pages and started to search for a mortgage broker willing to teach me loan origination and landed with Benny Fogleman of East Texas Mortgage, May 2003-Jul 2004 but this was truly self-employment from setting up my office space as an independent loan officer to pounding the pavement for clients. Eventually, I ended up wanting more experience and found a new mentor in Zagros Bigvand and Kevin Miller at Texaslending.com, Jul 2004- Oct 2005. We pulled 7 day work weeks and long hours, 12+; it was great to pull in 10 loan apps per day. I picked up a ton of knowledge and experience and then founded Topaz Mortgage & Real Estate Services, Dec 2005- Mar 2008. I had a great run with 13 loan officers and staff at the peak, but alas, I did not survive the crash of 2008. In 2006, my mortgage clients would ask me to represent them as their Realtor, and so I decided it was time to take all my RE schooling and put it to use, where I joined the fabulous Bill Jordan at William Davis Realty, Dec 2006-Mar 2008. After the mortgage meltdown of 2008, I went from 41 wholesale lenders to 1 and decided it was time to close my firm and enter the corporate world of default banking thanks to Matt Slonaker with Bear Stearns/EMC Mortgage, which eventually became JPM Chase, Mar 2008-Dec 2010. At JPMC, I had wonderful roles in Door to Door Loss Mitigation and REO Asset Management, eventually handling a specialty portfolio of $1M+. After nearly 3 years, I followed several colleagues to the reputable firm, VRM, which handled the REO for Freddie Mac at that time, and later Fannie Mae, of which I was one of a fortunate few to work on both accounts. When VRM was chosen by the VA to manage their REO properties, I was able to select if I wanted to continue asset management or use my diverse default background to help the company in auditing their new servicing partner, RCS. And since I enjoy a challenge, I landed in QC and then transitioned into Internal Audit, Jan 2011-Feb 2014. I began to miss real estate and made the move to Caliber Home Loans, REO Dept in Feb 2014-Oct 2016, which was great because I had so many familiar faces from JPM Chase. In the summer of 2016, as the needs of my family and personal life changed, I decided it was time to get back into retail real estate and focus more energy on real estate investing. I joined one of my all time favorite people, Carlos F. Navarrete with America Real Estate, Dec 2016.
About Me
Hi, I am a single mom and avid volunteer, who has been in the real estate and mortgage industry since 2002. The crash of 2008 had me close my mortgage firm and realty business but it led me into nearly 10 years in REO asset management and default banking, where I sold nearly 1K homes and renovated hundreds for companies like Bear Stearns, JPM Chase, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Caliber. In my spare time, I like to renovate flip homes and assist others with their remodel projects. I also enjoy volunteering with my local HOA Board, run a Girl Scout troop, and recently served on the PTA as Yearbook Editor for Bush Middle School. I have the pleasure of caring for my wonderful aging parents and my sweet, caring teenager. My friends would say that I am easy going and the most helpful person they know.
