Jonna Fernandez is the Chief Operating Officer of the Collin County Area Realtors (CCAR) headquartered in Plano, Texas. Prior to her promotion to the role of COO in 2017, Fernandez had served as CCAR’s Communications Director since 2007.
During her time as COO, Fernandez has created key benefits for the Association’s members and staff. In late 2017, she proposed the idea of providing free CE classes for members, which has proven to be one of the biggest member benefits in Association history. In addition, she has led the opening of four satellite office locations, cut administrative expenses, and streamlined internal processes to bring savings and added value to CCAR. On the staff side, Fernandez developed an annual review process that focuses on building upon employee strengths and creating pathways for expanded opportunities and upward growth within the Association.
During her time as Communications Director, Fernandez implemented key communications strategies that made CCAR stand out as a source for professional and reliable real estate information. Her media relations work garnered CCAR and its members local and national coverage, enhancing the REALTOR® image and promoting the protection of private property rights. In addition, Fernandez led the complete redesign of CCAR’s branding strategies and websites, as well as established the Association’s social media presence.
Fernandez has a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication from Doane University and a master’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Denver. She also holds the REALTOR® Association Certified Executive (RCE) designation and the C2EX endorsement from the National Association of REALTORS®. Fernandez is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Southwest and a Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program alumnae. In addition, she also serves on the Panel of Advisors for the North Texas REALTORS® in Action Foundation.
In addition to her professional contributions, Fernandez also volunteers her time and talents to several civic and charitable organizations.
