Vice President of Legal Affairs
Lori Levy is the General Counsel/Vice President of Legal Affairs for Texas REALTORS®. In that role she oversees all legal aspects of the association and the association’s political action committees and assists in lobbying efforts of the association. Lori supervises a staff of nine attorneys as well as the Professional Standards and Board Management departments. She oversees enforcement of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, directs educational and communication content, supervises all litigation affecting the association, and manages the association’s legal defense fund and the Legal Hotline. She works closely with the Governmental Affairs department in lobbying efforts at the Texas Legislature and state agencies.
Lori joined Texas REALTORS® staff in 2006 as the legislative attorney and manager for the association’s regulatory affairs.
Lori was born and raised in Texarkana. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Middle East Studies from Emory University, located in Atlanta, Georgia. She earned her J.D. from the School of Law at the University of Texas.
After law school, Lori worked for a number of years at the Texas Senate. She worked as a general counsel for various senate members, including Lt. Governor Bill Ratliff and Senators Florence Shapiro and Todd Staples as well as senate committees, including State Affairs and Transportation and Homeland Security.
She is married and has two children.
