Do you have an email management tool? Does it help you generate new leads? If not, you may want to try the free version of Substack.

What Is Substack?

Substack is both a newsletter and social platform. When someone enters their email to subscribe to your content, they also become part of your email list. The blog-like content you create is sent as a newsletter directly to the subscribers’ email and posted on your dedicated Substack webpage. You can also create short social posts, host your podcast, and upload videos—providing more opportunities for visibility and engagement.

What Should You Include in Your Newsletters?

The newsletter format gives you space to dive deeper into specific real estate topics. For instance, don’t just share a local market stat from MarketViewer; explain what it might mean for buyers and sellers. Other ideas include going into greater detail on what clients should expect during an inspection, a breakdown of how you can help navigate the property tax protest process, or the details behind how you set up an open house.

How Do You Get Started?

On substack.com, click the “Start your Substack” or “Create an Account” button. Follow the prompts to customize your account. Once it’s set up, go to settings and click “Create another publication”. Give your publication a name that represents your business brand. Then click on “New post” and select “Text post” to begin adding your newsletter content. Continue through the prompts. Once you publish, your newsletter will be sent directly to the email list you imported and anyone who has subscribed.

While Substack has a paid version with the option to monetize newsletters, the free version is all you need to attract new leads and grow your email list.
